HURLEY FIRE DEPT.
FULL SIZE & 4 CYLINDER RULES

SITE: TURNER CO. FAIR DATE: WED. AUG. 13, 2008

TIME: 7:00pm PITS OPEN at 1:30pm CLOSE at 6:30pm Spectators at 7:00pm $2000 PURSE

CAR REGULATIONS: FIGURE 8 RULES

• ALL CARS are to have 4 numbers, (18" high and 2" wide), one each on the front door. NUMBERS on top must be standing up and must be at least 24" tall and 12" wide. They must be visible from both sides. CONTRASTING COLORED PAINT MUST BE USED FOR NUMBERS. (white on black background) Numbers can be reserved by confirming with proper personnel. We will not be responsible if counters miss count your laps because your car doesn't have a number on top. THIS IS REQUIRED!

• All glass is to be removed from the car, including headlights. Glass fragments must be removed from door cavities. Front windshield's can be left in. Should have two straps from front firewall to top of hood to keep hood from coming into car.

• All taillight and gas gauge wires must be cut.

• The hood of your car must be chained down securely. It should have holes cut on both sides to extinguish fires.

• The doors of your car must be chained or welded shut securely.

• You may NOT in anyway block or weld your springs or do anything in anyway to make your car sturdier.

• SEAT BELTS ARE REQUIRED.

• You may reinforce the door on the drivers' side only, if desired. No sand weights are allowed in doors.

• Fenders may be cut to size of tires only.

• There is a requirement of no less than a 2-point anchored on the frame roll cage. (Top to bottom, side to side

• 
  

• You may protect radiator, but it must be inside radiator grill. No pipe outside frame rail.

• Cars must have original bumper. No pipes outside frame rails. No trailer hitches. No added weight or ballast.

• GAS TANKS MAYBE PLACED INSIDE, BUT IT MUST BE SECURELY FASTENED, AND A FIRE WALL BETWEEN TANK AND DRIVER, TANK MUST NOT EXCEED 6 GALLONS (BOAT TANK) IT CAN REMAIN IN NORMAL POSITION OR IN THE TRUNK SECURELY FASTENED WITH FIRE WALL.

• TIRES. NO STUDS. TUBES OK, NO FLUID AND NO OTHER BALLAST ALLOWED. NO ALL WHEEL DRIVES CARS.

• ANY CARS NOT MEETING SPEC.'S WILL BE REJECTED.

• ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DRIVER REGULATIONS:

• Must be 16 years of age. All drivers must sign an insurance waiver.

• The driver is the only person allowed in the car during the race.

• The entry fee will be included in the prize money. ($25 pre-register or $30 at the gate). MONEY ORDERS OR CERTIFIED CHECKS ONLY FOR PRE-REGISTRATION FEES!!!!!!

• All drivers must wear helmets. They also must remain in their cars until the race is over, (except in the case of fire or medical need).

• Anyone with an arm out a window while driving will be disqualified.

• Any driver that hits another car in the left front door is automatically disqualified to the official's discretion. (NO DRIVERS DOOR HITS).

• Any car that cannot compete after the heat race MUST notify the track steward.

• Any driver not completing the course is automatically disqualified.

• Any rules or regulations not covered here will be left up to the track officials.

• Drivers are responsible to line up for next race, if your car is unable to run, you are responsible to notify the track steward, if not the race will start without you.

PIT ENTRANCE RULES:

• You must be 14 years of age to enter the pit area.

• NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED in the pit area.

• Pit crew and spectators must sign insurance agreements and pay $15.00 each upon entering pit area.

• Armbands will be issued to all personnel in pit and must be visible at all times.
